Various student organisations exist on a European and International level that deal with the issue of Higher Education in different ways. ESU is working towards unifying the European student body with regards to the issue of Higher Education. Student organisations, that are not national unions of students, are able to associate themselves to ESU and thus involve themselves in the discussion and information exchange that happens within the ESU structures. ESU currently has 5 Associate Organisations. In order to become an Associate Organisation of ESU, the organisation must fulfil the following criteria to be eligible: - have students or local/national student organisations as members;
- are democratically run for students and by students;
- have objectives in line with ESU objectives;
- have members from at least 8 countries parties to the European Cultural Convention;
In order to apply for Associate Organisation status, the organisation must submit: - A motivation letter
- The constitution and standing orders of the organisation (in original and english language)
- A plan of work
- A filled membership questionnaire
