Bologna Process Committee PDF Print E-mail

The Bologna Process Committee (BPC) is one of ESU's three expert committees. It deals with all matters concerning the Bologna Process and its implementation on national and local level.

This involves work such as
  • developing ESU's policy on issues discussed within the Process,
  • gathering information on the implementation of the Bologna Action Lines throughout Europe,
  • representing ESU within the official Bologna structure (Bologna Follow-Up Group, Board, Working Groups and Seminars),
  • providing ESU's members with up-to-date information on Bologna and
  • providing training possibilities to ESU members and other interested organisations.

The Bologna Process currently leads to substantial reforms of higher education systems and study structures in Europe towards a greater extent of transparency and comparability. Hence the mobility of students and staff shall be facilitated through apropriate structures. Topics under discussion in the Bologna Process, and thereby topics the BPC covers in its daily work, include:
  • Three-cycle degree structure and Qualifications Frameworks
  • Quality Assurance of Higher Education
  • The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System - ECTS
  • Mobility of students and staff
  • The Social Dimension of the European Higher Education Area
  • Its External Dimension
