LIMASSOL - Employability of students and the impact of the worldwide austerity measures on higher education will be high on the agenda of the 24th European Students' Convention from the European Students' Union (ESU). The meeting of 150 student leaders from all over Europe takes place from 17 to 20 October in Limassol, Cyprus and is hosted by ESU's Cypriot member, POFEN.

The 30th anniversary of ESU will as well be celebrated during the event. More information about the 30th Anniversary Celebrations can be found here: http://www.esu-online.org/esu30years/.

The ESC24 will look at the impact which austerity measures have had on higher education and the democratic rights of young people. The convention secondly builds further on the ongoing SAGE project, ESU’s project on youth employability (http://www.esu-online.org/projects/current/sage/).

The national unions of students -ESU has 47 member unions from 38 European countries- will be consulted on the current national debates and strategies on employment on national level. How EU-level policies affect national policymaking is another important question that will be explored by the delegates from the national unions of students. The full agenda of the meeting as well as all other practicalities can be found here: http://www.esu-online.org/ents/event/54/ and here: http://esc24.net/.
