Access to courses in France

Proposed by: FAGE

Adopted at: Board Meeting 56

ESU is very concerned about the current situation in France.

For 12 weeks now, some University departments haven't organized any courses due to a teachers strike also involving some students. This situation may lead to the cancellation of exams and therefore of the  semester.

This situation is very preoccupying for all students, and especially  international students spending the semester in France, as well as students coming from a lower socio-economic background who paid the costs of studying for a whole semester, without any course.

Therefore, ESU calls on the French government to make room for a real negotiation in the current context. Furthermore, ESU calls for the concerned universities to use any practical way to organise courses so that students don't lose their semester.
