The overarching theme of the 26th European Students’ Convention, held in Kaunas, Lithuania, from 20 to 22 September 2013, will be Internationalisation of the European Higher Education Area: Policies and Practices for Stronger EU Neighbourhood Policy.

The European Students’ Convention (ESC26) is a bi-annual meeting of the European Students’ Union, co-hosted by national unions of students in the countries holding the rotating Presidency to the European Union.

ESC26 will involve around one hundred representatives from 47 national unions of students in 39 countries in Europe. This is the first time that this kind of a meeting of student representatives and experts in higher education is held in Lithuania. ESC26 is dedicated to the promotion of the internationalisation of higher education, which is one of Lithuania’s priorities towards its co-chairing of the Bologna Follow-up Group.

ESC26 is co-organised by the Lithuanian National Union of Students (LSS), which is a member union of the European Students’ Union and the only umbrella interest representation for students in higher education in Lithuania. The conference will take place at Kaunas University of Technology and Vytautas Magnus University.
