The Student Peace Prize is awarded biennially to a student or student organization that has contributed to promote peace, human rights and democracy. It is awarded on behalf of all Norwegian students through a cooperation between the International Student Festival in Trondheim (ISFiT), Norwegian Students’ and Academics’ International Assistance Fund (SAIH) and the National Union of Students in Norway (NSO).
Anyone can submit nominations through www.studentpeaceprize.org/nominate. If an individual, the nominee must be enrolled in higher education or have another legitimate reason to be considered a student. Nominations are received by the Nomination Committee that researches all candidates and delivers a shortlist to the Committee of the Student Peace Prize that in turn selects the laureate.
The deadline for submission of nominations is the 15th of April 2020.
The Nomination Committee will then prepare the Nomination Report for the Committee of the Student Peace Prize that makes the final decision in August 2020. They will announce the winner of the Student Peace Prize 2021 before November 2020.
