ESU’s Student Experts’ Pool on Quality Assurance (QA) is supported by a group of dedicated students – the Steering Committee, who is responsible for launching calls for new members and overseeing the work of the pool.
The group consists out of five individuals, out of which two are members of ESU’s Executive Committee: Gohar Hovhannisyan (Executive Committee Member) and Adam Gajek (President of ESU) for the 2018-2019 mandate. The other three members of the Steering Committee have been selected recently from the QA Pool members:
- Anastasia Demydenko is a student of European Politics and Society, Political Science and Communication, accomplishing her studies in Israel and the Netherlands. During her studies, Anastasia focused on the diplomatic aspect and International Relations. She works as a research assistant at the Simone Veil Centre involved in the research on Israeli media perceptions of EU states and institutions. She has three years of experience in representing the interest of the students in the University Students’ Committee and as Head of the Students’ Committee in the Communications Department. Anastasia joined as a member of the Quality Assurance Student Experts Pool in 2017.
- Liv Teresa Muth studied a Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences and a Master’s in Biotechnology at the University of Muenster, Germany. In June 2019 she will start her PhD in Industrial Biotechnology in Ghent, Belgium. During her studies, she was a student representative both in the student union and in higher education accreditations in Germany and Europe. She represented the students as a stakeholder group in the university context and fought for student rights in the reviews.
- Aleksandar Šušnjar is a Master of Education in philosophy and English language and literature and is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Philosophy of the University in Rijeka. He was active in numerous student organisations and representative bodies, including holding positions of president of the Students’ Council of the University of Rijeka and Croatian Students’ Council, as well as being a member of the Executive Committee of the European Students’ Union (mandates 2016-2017 and 2017-2018). During his time as a student representative, he mainly worked on issues of quality of higher education with a special focus on learning and teaching, such as student-centred learning, recognition and quality assurance. He is a certified expert for external evaluation of quality assurance systems of ASHE (Croatian QA agency), and a member of ENQA’s pool of experts for external review of quality assurance agencies.
