Human rights a core priority in 2015
|
BAKU -
The European Students' Union (ESU) will enhance its work on human rights
in 2015. This was confirmed in the new plan of work that European
student representatives adopted at ESU's Board Meeting in Baku,
Azerbaijan, from 1 to 5 December 2014. Go to full article

European students adopt a firm position on TTIP
|
BAKU -
Education should be excluded, should there be an agreement on a
Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) in the future.
Students in Europe urge the negotiating parties to use the example of
cultural and audio visual services that have already been excluded from

ESU warns against tuition fees in EU2020 and ET2020 strategies
|
BAKU -
The European Students' Union (ESU) urges the European Commission to stop
promoting tuition fees as an option for financing higher education.
Aims to widen access to higher education should rather be supported,
such as national plans for access to education. Too much attention has
been given to the economic role of higher education. More should be done
to promote it as a public responsibility and a public good. Investments
in education should not be considered as targets in austerity measures.

A new candidate union from Moldova
|
BAKU -
The European Students' Union (ESU) has decided to grant the Students'
Alliance of Moldova a candidate status for membership. ESU will now
examine whether the applicant fulfils the conditions and criteria needed
to be become a member. Should that be the case, the application will
need to be approved formally by ESU's member unions at one of its Board
Meetings, held twice a year. Go to full article

ESU rejects article misrepresenting our policies on the Lucens guidelines
|
BAKU -
The European Students' Union (ESU) strongly rejects the news article
issue by Azerbaijani Students' Organisation (ASYOU) in which a number of
false claims were made. The article distorts the decisions and opinions
adopted by the highest decision-making body of ESU. Go to full article
